Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over will go into effect across the country August 16th to September 4th, 2023. Impaired driving is one of the deadliest and most often committed crimes. Accidents and fatalities caused by impaired driving can be prevented. This issue has become a serious safety epidemic in the United States.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) every day, about 37 people in the United States die in a drunk-driving crash – that’s one person every 39 minutes.
It is important to have a plan:
- Before drinking, plan a safe and sober ride home
- Don’t let someone get behind the wheel if they have been drinking
- If you are hosting a party/gathering, make sure everyone has a sober ride home
- If you see an impaired driver, call 911
One of the best things to do is raise public awareness, you can make a difference.
