National Recovery Month is a national observance to promote and support new evidence-based treatment and recovery practices, the nations strong and proud recovery community, and the dedication of service providers and communities who make recovery possible.
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) aims to increase public awareness on mental health and addiction recovery.
The 3 main steps to solving addiction are:
- Acknowledging the addiction
- Seeking professional addiction treatment
- Preventing relapse of past addictions
